| This redundant site on the south-eastern edge of Basingstoke adjacent to the M3 motorway benefited from planning permission for a major headquarters office block. However, due to the redevelopment of Basingstoke town centre incorporating a plentiful supply of new office facilities, this planning permission had not been implemented. |
Cadenza identified the potential for change of use of the site in the Local Plan review procedure and acquired the site unconditionally from Hewlett Packard. A small office on the site, being a listed building, was retained and a residential development designed to respect the setting of this building and to respond positively to the surrounding area. Consultations took place with the various stakeholders,
including residents and the ward councillor, resulting in Planning Officers
recommending our planning application for approval. |
